A Semi-hidden Markov modeling of a low complexity FSK-OOK in-house PLC and VLC integration
Ayokunle Damilola Familua,Alain R. Ndjiongue,K. Ogunyanda,Ling Cheng,Hendrik C. Ferreira,Theo G. Swart +5 more
- 01 Mar 2015
TL;DR: An implementation of a low complexity FSK-OOK In-House PLC and VLC Integration, as well as it's Second-Order Semi-Markov Model is reported, which facilitates the design and evaluation of forward error correcting codes to mitigate burst error occurrences, and optimizing the performance of the overall system.

Narrowband PLC channel modeling using USRP and PSK modulations
Ayokunle Damilola Familua,K. Ogunyanda,Theo G. Swart,Hendrik C. Ferreira,Rex van Olst,Ling Cheng +5 more
- 12 May 2014
TL;DR: A First-order Markov modeling of NB-PLC channel noise is reported, based on experimental measurements, which are useful for improving the robustness of the above modulation schemes as well as designing forward error correction techniques for mitigating the effect of noise impairments.

Permutation coding with differential quinary phase shift keying for power line communication
K. Ogunyanda,Ayokunle Damilola Familua,Theo G. Swart,Hendrik C. Ferreira,Ling Cheng +4 more
- 01 Oct 2014
TL;DR: A modified DPSK modulator, called differential quinary PSK (DQuiPSK), with only 5 constellations, to improve the performance of permutation coded DPSK-OFDM modulation for power line communication (PLC) purposes is reported.

Evaluation and implementation of cyclic permutation coding for power line communications
K. Ogunyanda,Ayokunle Damilola Familua,Theo G. Swart,Hendrik C. Ferreira,Ling Cheng,Thokozani Shongwe +5 more
- 01 Oct 2014
TL;DR: A specially coded M-ary differential phase shift keying modulation scheme on narrowband PLC channel that outperforms the conventional Reed Solomon-convolutional coding (RS-CC) specified in the G3-PLC standard and is easier to implement.

Adaptive permutation coded differential OFDM system for power line communications
K. Ogunyanda,Ayokunle Damilola Familua,Theo G. Swart,Hendrik C. Ferreira,Ling Cheng +4 more
- 01 Oct 2014
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a permutation coded modulation scheme, which employs the hybridization of two kinds of DPSK (differential phase shift keying) modulations in an adaptive manner.
