A hybrid time-of-flight spectrometer for thermal neutron scattering
TL;DR: In this article, a new time-of-flight spectrometer utilizing thermal neutrons has been installed at the 50 MW R2-reactor in Studsvik, where a double crystal arrangement is used to select monochromatic neutrons from the reactor beam.

The molecular motion in crystalline, plastic, and liquid neopentane studied by cold neutron scattering experiments
TL;DR: In this paper, the mean life times τ 0 and τ 1 for the librations and free rotations of a neopentane molecule were investigated in the liquid state at 265 K and in the solid state at 253 K.

A “hybrid” time-of-flight spectrometer for cold neutrons
TL;DR: In this article, a new cold neutron spectrometer has been installed at the R2 reactor at Studsvik in Norway, with an energy resolution in the range 0.09 − 0.4 meV.

On the molecular motion in liquid neopentane
TL;DR: In this article, the rotational and translational modes of motion are uncoupled and the contribution from the torsional motion of the CH3 group is rather well separated from the scattered spectrum owing to the motion of a rigid molecule.
