AIM
To investigate the experiences and insights of nurse educators in order to acquire a better understanding of the nature and various factors associated with workplace violence, which could lead to the establishment of future actions and recommendations to eliminate or reduce aggression, abuse, incivility, and any other forms of violence in the health sector.


BACKGROUND
Workplace violence is one of the social phenomena that has not been fully explored in various settings such as educational institutions and healthcare facilities. A worker who had experienced violence could provide valuable insights that could help to better understand and sustainably protect an individual, a group, or an organization from workplace violence and its unfavorable consequences.


METHODS
Qualitative descriptive phenomenological study. A total of 18 nurse educators who met the inclusion criteria were enrolled as the study participants in a government university located in the Eastern Region of Saudi Arabia. Purposive sampling method was used in the recruitment. In addition, a semi-structured interview guide was employed to explore the participants' experiences and insights from February to June 2021. Data were analyzed using Colaizzi methods, and a COREQ checklist was utilized to report the study's results.


RESULTS
The participants' narratives generated three major themes, namely the "Triple-A": (1) "acquaint"; (2) "analyze"; and (3) "act," to better understand workplace violence themes.


CONCLUSION
The "Triple-A: Acquaint, analyze, and act" workplace violence themes can serve as a simple guide to better understand the nature and different factors associated with workplace violence: "acquaint" illustrates self-awareness; "analyze" pertains to the recognition to possible indications and signals; and "act" depicts an individual's proactiveness and responsiveness to workplace violence and conceivably catalyzes the decrease of this social hazard's prevalence.


IMPLICATION FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT
Leaders and managers in the nursing field should prioritize their participation in developing creative strategies and their implementation of policies to manage and mitigate violence in the workplace, such as initiating ongoing education (acquaint), creating robust procedures for reporting and referral (analyze), and establishing support networks, listening to victims' experiences, and promoting respect to individual differences (act).

Background Stereotypes about the nursing profession include low ability, low compensation, minimal educational requirements, little autonomy, and a preponderance of women in the field. Contrary to popular opinion, nursing is typically a female-dominated career, and there has been an increase in the number of male registered nurses in the past few years. Aim The primary aim of this qualitative investigation is to delve into the experiences and realities faced by male, registered nurses (RNs) in Saudi Arabia and their role in nation-building through Saudi Vision 2030– a national initiative to improve the lives of every citizen based on the pillars: a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation. Methods The study applied qualitative descriptive phenomenology. Twenty-three male RNs were selected through purposive sampling from a total of five hospitals (three government and two private). Semi-structured interviews were used to collect the data. Data was analyzed utilizing Colaizzi's descriptive phenomenological method, and the COREQ checklist was utilized to report qualitative results. Results The primary themes were the following: (1) “The stigma of men in nursing” contributes to the idea that men who work in a profession that is primarily dominated by women have a lot of deeply embedded challenges; (2) “The Murses: male nurses rising above the challenges” shows how male RNs deal with specific issues they face while caring for patients in a range of settings, and (3) “The future of male nursing in Saudi Arabia” discusses how male RNs may help the nursing profession grow and develop. Conclusion Male RNs experienced both positive and negative professional impressions from people inside and outside the healthcare facilities. In some cases, male RNs faced workplace violence and discrimination. Nonetheless, it was evident that male RNs strove harder to “belong” and to earn respect from the people of Saudi Arabia. 

Men's Experiences Facing Nurses Stereotyping in Saudi Arabia: A Phenomenological Study

Saudi Arabia's agriculture heavily depends on effective water management, given its limited freshwater resources and arid climate. Real-time monitoring of soil moisture levels, weather conditions, and crop watering needs, facilitated by IoT integration, plays a crucial role in conserving water and minimizing waste. The resultant improvements in crop yields and quality are essential for the long-term success of agriculture in the country. This study employs the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method to investigate the transformative potential of the Internet of Things (IoT) in enhancing water management practices in Saudi Arabia's agriculture sector. The research begins by highlighting the significance of water management in agriculture, emphasizing the proportion of land in Saudi Arabia allocated to agricultural purposes. The problem statement underscores the pressing challenges in water management, encompassing issues such as water scarcity, inefficient irrigation methods, and the need for real-time data to inform decision-making. To address these challenges, the study proposes an IoT-based Agricultural Water Management System (IoT-AWMS) that leverages sensors, real-time data analytics, and machine learning algorithms. This system is designed to optimize water utilization in agriculture. Simulations conducted within the study demonstrate a significant enhancement in water usage efficiency, resulting in reduced water wastage and increased crop yields. In conclusion, this research underscores the critical importance of the proposed IoT-based water management system for Saudi Arabia. It is positioned as a valuable tool for mitigating water scarcity challenges and promoting environmentally sustainable agricultural practices in the country.

Factors Affecting the Satisfaction of Women Employees in Health Sector: A Perception Study in Saudi Arabia

PurposeThe aim of this study is to investigate the roles of psychiatric mental health nurses during their work experiences in inpatient clinical settings.Design/methodology/approachA focus group of 10 graduate psychiatric nurses with more than two years’ practice in inpatient psychiatric settings reflected on their last six months’ work placements and continuous employment. The transcripts and field notes were analyzed through thematic analysis of inductive data.FindingsTwo main themes emerged: management roles and clinical roles. The participants reflected on caring activities and obstacles encountered in fulfilling their professional roles.Originality/valueMultiple practice issues emerged. The participants perceived that psychiatric nurse specialists are required to perform more caring functions than practicable in the inpatient setting due to an excess of noncaring duties, structural minimization of the caring role and inadequate training. They felt that many of the functions performed were not within their expectations of the caring role of a psychiatric nurse specialist and believed that changes in nurse education and attention to clarification of nurses’ roles might enhance the role they play in patient care.

Perceptions of Saudi psychiatric mental health nurses’ roles in the inpatient mental health care setting

AIM
The study aimed to revisit the roles of nurses working in the neonatal intensive care unit in a specific university hospital located in the Eastern Region to pursue Saudi Vision 2030 - to provide excellent quality of life and well-being for its national citizens.


BACKGROUND
The neonatal intensive care unit is one of the most crucial hospital units caring for high-risk neonates with conditions like pre- and post-maturity and congenital anomalies. The nurses' experiences are vital to achieving the Saudi Vision 2030's Health Sector Transformation Strategy.


METHODS
Descriptive Phenomenology. Data collection utilized semi-structured individual interviews with sixteen (16) neonatal intensive care unit nurses for ten months from March 2019 to January 2020. Colaizzi Method was used in data analysis, and the COREQ criteria list was utilized in data reporting.


RESULTS
Three major themes emerged from the participants' narratives: (1) 'mokadem alreayah alshamela: holistic caregiver; (2) 'muzawed malomat': information provider; and (3) 'yad almusaadah': helping hand.


CONCLUSION
Revisiting the various roles will align neonatal intensive care unit nurses' critical characteristics towards Saudi Vision 2030, focusing solely on improving service providers' quality and safety principles and skills.


IMPLICATION FOR NURSING MANAGEMENT
Revisiting the roles of the neonatal intensive care unit nurses would provide an alignment to the goals and objectives of the future initiatives of Saudi Arabia towards its Vision 2030.

The purpose of this study is to examine the roles of nurse educators through the eyes of undergraduate and graduate students at selected Saudi Arabian universities in the context of Vision 2030, an initiative to transform the socio-economic reform plan that is opening Saudi Arabia worldwide based on the following three pillars: a vital society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation.


BACKGROUND
Nursing education in Saudi Arabia has faced numerous obstacles due to cultural, educational, organizational, and work-related factors, discouraging registered nurses and students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate programs from pursuing career paths in nursing education.


METHODS
Descriptive phenomenology was used as the method. Twenty-two nursing students from selected government and private universities in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Region were recruited through purposive sampling and semi-structured in-depth interviews. The COREQ criteria list was adapted to report the study's findings.


RESULTS
Four themes emerged regarding how nursing students perceived nurse educators' roles, including 'philanthropists of learning,' 'advocates for patient safety and quality service,' 'proponents of individual transformation,' and 'beacons of hope for nursing's future.


CONCLUSION
Despite rapidly changing images, ideologies, and perceptions of modernization and worldwide freedom of expression and speech, students continue to have positive perspectives on nurse educators' roles. Implications for Nursing Management The study's findings will provide an initiative for nurse managers and leaders to revisit the roles of nurse educators in molding future generations of registered nurses and realign these roles towards the goals and objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
