Catalytic hydroprocessing of fatty acid methyl esters to renewable alkane fuels over Ni/HZSM-5 catalyst
TL;DR: A series of Ni/HZSM-5 catalysts with different Ni loading and Si/Al ratios were prepared by incipient wetness impregnation, and physicochemical properties of the catalysts were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), N2-adsorption, temperature-programmed desorption of ammonia (NH3-TPD), and thermogravimetric (TG) analysis as discussed by the authors.

Free fatty acids esterification for biodiesel production using self-synthesized macroporous cation exchange resin as solid acid catalyst
TL;DR: In this paper, a linear relationship between original water content and esterified FFAs was identified and differences in deactivation models were investigated, which showed that macroporous resin performs better than gel-type resin in low methanol concentration or high FFAs contents, but they show physical instability in reusability tests.

Solvent-free hydrodeoxygenation of bio-lipids into renewable alkanes over NiW bimetallic catalyst under mild conditions
TL;DR: In this article, a NiW bimetallic catalyst was used for solvent-free hydrodeoxygenation of bio-lipids into renewable alkanes by non-precious Ni metal catalysts under mild conditions.

Highly stable gasified straw slag as a novel solid base catalyst for the effective synthesis of biodiesel: Characteristics and performance
TL;DR: In this paper, a solid base catalyst derived from gasified straw slag for producing biodiesel was prepared by simple pulverization and sieving, which exhibited high stability, low leaching of the catalytic species, and good catalytic activity caused by high-temperature melting in the biomass gasifier.

Direct synthesis and characterization of pore-broadened Al-SBA-15
Shiyou Xing,Pengmei Lv,Junying Fu,Jiayan Wang,Jiayan Wang,Pei Fan,Lingmei Yang,Zhenhong Yuan +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of aluminum incorporation, assembling temperature, and co-solvent (1,3,5-trimethylbenzene (TMB)) content were investigated by low-angle XRD, N2 adsorption and desorption isotherm analysis, SEM, TEM, NH3-TPD, FTIR, pyridine-IR, and 27Al NMR.
