HUM calculator and HUM package for R: easy-to-use software tools for multicategory receiver operating characteristic analysis.
TL;DR: Two tools in different programming environments which feature user-friendly, object-oriented and flexible interfaces and enable the user to compute HUM values and plot 2D- and 3D-ROC curves are developed.

Modulation of TAP-dependent antigen compartmentalization during human monocyte-to-DC differentiation.
Marius Döring,Hanna Blees,Nicole Koller,Sabine Tischer-Zimmermann,Mathias Müsken,Frederik Henrich,Frederik Henrich,Jennifer Becker,Elena Grabski,Junxi Wang,Hans Janssen,Werner Zuschratter,Jacques Neefjes,Frank Klawonn,Britta Eiz-Vesper,Robert Tampé,Ulrich Kalinke +16 more
TL;DR: It is found that monocytes showed high transporter associated with antigen processing (TAP)-dependent peptide compartmentalization and that after antigen pulsing, they were not able to efficiently stimulate antigen-specific T lymphocytes, compatible with the model that during monocyte-to-DC differentiation, the subcellular relocation of TAP and the regulation of its activity assure spatiotemporal separation of local antigen uptake and processing by monocytes.

Antibody induced CD4 down-modulation of T cells is site-specifically mediated by CD64(+) cells.
Stephanie Vogel,Elena Grabski,Daniela Buschjäger,Frank Klawonn,Marius Döring,Junxi Wang,Erika Fletcher,Ingo Bechmann,Torsten Witte,Martin Durisin,Burkhart Schraven,Sara M. Mangsbo,Kurt Schönfeld,Niklas Czeloth,Ulrich Kalinke +14 more
TL;DR: The results of this study suggest that in patients BT-061 would primarily induce CD4 down-modulation at inflammatory sites, implying that Fcγ receptor mediated cell-cell interactions played a role in this effect.
HAUCA Curves for the Evaluation of Biomarker Pilot Studies with Small Sample Sizes and Large Numbers of Features
Frank Klawonn,Junxi Wang,Ina Koch,Jörg Eberhard,Mohamed Omar +4 more
- 13 Oct 2016
TL;DR: A method based on area under the ROC curve (AUC) values that indicates how much correlations of the biomarkers with the disease of interest exceed pure random effects is proposed.

Optimized leaf ordering with class labels for hierarchical clustering
TL;DR: This paper proposes a leaf ordering algorithm for the dendrogram that preserving the hierarchical clustering result tries to group instances from the same class together based on the concept of dynamic programming which can efficiently compute the optimal or nearly optimal order, consistent with the structure of the tree.
