Cloning, functional expression and phylogenetic analysis of plant sterol 24C-methyltransferases involved in sitosterol biosynthesis
Anjanasree K. Neelakandan,Zhihong Song,Junqing Wang,Matthew Richards,Xiaolei Wu,Babu Valliyodan,Henry T. Nguyen,W. David Nes +7 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that the order of SMT1 appearing before SMT2 in phytosterol synthesis arose recently in plant evolution in response to duplication of a more primitive SMT gene likely to have been bifunctional and catalytically promiscuous.

Hydrolysed fish protein powder is better at the growth performance, hepatopancreas and intestinal development of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)
Vivian Hlordzi,Junqing Wang,Felix K.A. Kuebutornye,Xuanyi Yang,Beiping Tan,Tianbi Li,Zhiying Cui,Shaoying Lv,Taicai Lao,Chi Shuyan +9 more
TL;DR: The effect of hydrolysed fish protein powder (HFP) on the growth, aspartate transaminase (AST) and alanine transaminases (ALT) content in the serum, malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD), total protease, trypsin, and chymotrypsin in the intestine of Pacific white shrimp ( Litopenaeus vannamei ) was assessed after an 8-week experiment as discussed by the authors .

Cyclobranol: A substrate for C25-methyl sterol side chains and potent mechanism-based inactivator of plant sterol methyltransferase
Junqing Wang,W. David Nes +1 more
TL;DR: Cyclobranol 8A, an analog of the cycloartenol substrate 1A for the plant sterol C24-methyltransferase (SMT), was shown to be an acceptor of the soybean SMT1 as well as an inhibitor of enzyme action.

Efficient Biosynthesis of 10-Hydroxy-2-decenoic Acid Using a NAD(P)H Regeneration P450 System and Whole-Cell Catalytic Biosynthesis
Li Wei Wang,Leilei Wang,Guiming Wang,Zhaoyun Wang,Junqing Wang,Haibo Yuan,Jing Sui,Yan Li,Suzhen Yang,Ting-lu Han +9 more
TL;DR: A simplified production strategy to promote the two-step continuous whole-cell catalytic biosynthesis of 10-HDA and other α,β-unsaturated medium-chain carboxylic acid derivatives is provided.

Modification and application of highly active alkaline pectin lyase
TL;DR: In this article , the pectin lyase with the highest expression activity from Bacillus clausii, modified and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21(DE3) was significantly improved.
