The invention relates to an adjusting method and device for polarizers in the manufacturing process of a light alignment film. The adjusting method for the polarizers in the manufacturing process of the light alignment film comprises the steps that light emitted by a light source is made to pass through the first polarizer to form polarized light, wherein the first polarizer is a polarizer to be adjusted; the polarized light is made to pass through the second polarizer; the direction of the light transmitting axis of the second polarizer is adjusted, and the light intensity of the transmitted light passing through the second polarizer is measured; the direction of the light transmitting axis of the first polarizer is adjusted according to the measured light intensity so as to make the direction of the light transmitting axis of the first polarizer parallel to a preset direction. By means of the adjusting method and device for the polarizers in the manufacturing process of the light alignment film, the adjusting precision of the polarizers can be improved, and implementation is easy and convenient.

The device and the method are mainly applied to the field of optical alignment of liquid crystal display screens. The device comprises a base, a motion guide rail, a guide rail supporting frame, a reflection mirror, at least one baseplate station, at least one transmission device, a polarized light generator,etc. An alignment baseplate is transmitted by the transmission device; incident light generated by the polarized light generator is reflected to the reflection mirror by a spectroscope and a detectiondevice; and optical alignment of a to-be-aligned baseplate is conducted. The invention also provides an alignment method for the device, wherein continuous alignment operations can be achieved through alternate transformation of the transmission device. According to the invention, through fixation of the baseplate station and motion of the reflection mirror, the alignment device is more stable and alignment quality is improved; working space and mass of the whole device are reduced; and under coordination of the alignment method, efficiency of alignment operations is increased.

The invention provides a polarized light irradiation apparatus and method for photo-alignment, which is capable of detecting the direction of a polarization axis of irradiated polarized light in high precision and performing photo-alignment treatment in high quality in the aspect of direction precision. A workpiece (W) is arranged on an irradiation surface (R). When the workpiece (W) is irradiated by the polarized light by virtue of irradiating the irradiation surface (R) through a polarized element (121), a polarization direction detector (40) is arranged on the irradiation surface (R) and detects the direction of the polarization axis of the polarized light. A polarization analyzer arranged in the polarization direction detector (40) is located in advance by a polarization analyzer calibrator, and a rotary original point is at a specified angle with respect to the reference direction of the apparatus. Based on the polarization direction detected by the polarization direction detector (40), the deviation of the polarization axis can be obtained and by using a polarized element adjusting mechanism (7) to adjust the posture of the polarized element (121), the deviation can be eliminated.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable accurate detection of a polarization axis direction of polarized light being irradiated and optical alignment processing of high quality in terms of directional accuracy.SOLUTION: When placing a workpiece W on an irradiation plane R and irradiating the workpiece W with polarized light by irradiating the irradiation plane R with light through a polarizing element 121, a polarization axis direction of the polarized light is detected by deploying a polarization direction detector 40 on the irradiation plane R. The polarization direction detector 40 has an analyzer 42 which is pre-aligned by an analyzer aligner 6 such that a rotation start point is at a predetermined angle with respect to a device reference direction. The amount of shift in polarization axis is determined based on the polarization direction detected by the polarization direction detector 40, and orientation of the polarizing element 121 is adjusted by a polarizing element adjustment mechanism 7 to reduce the amount of shift to zero.
