Accumulation of uric acid in the epidermis forms the white integument of Samia ricini larvae.
TL;DR: Results clearly demonstrated that larval S. ricini accumulates uric acid as urate granules in the epidermis and that the genetic basis that controls uric Acid accumulation is evolutionarily conserved in S. Ricini larvae.

Identification and functional analysis of a Masculinizer orthologue in Trilocha varians (Lepidoptera: Bombycidae).
TL;DR: Cloned and characterized a Masc homologue (TvMasc) in Trilocha varians, a species closely related to B. mori, and found that Masc genes play similar roles in the sex‐determination cascade in Bombycidae.
