A proximity-tagging system to identify membrane protein–protein interactions
Qiang Liu,Qiang Liu,Jun Zheng,Jun Zheng,Weiping Sun,Weiping Sun,Yinbo Huo,Yinbo Huo,Liye Zhang,Piliang Hao,Haopeng Wang,Min Zhuang +11 more
TL;DR: A proximity-based tagging system, PUP-IT (pupylation-based interaction tagging), to identify membrane protein interactions, and it is demonstrated that this method can identify the interaction between a cell surface receptor and its ligand.

Ubiquitin ligase MARCH5 localizes to peroxisomes to regulate pexophagy.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a proximity tagging system, PUP-IT, to identify new interacting proteins of MARCH5, which is a dual-organelle locating protein that interacts with several peroxisomal proteins.
The structure-based traceless specific fluorescence labeling of the smoothened receptor
Dongxiang Xue,Lintao Ye,Jun Zheng,Yiran Wu,Xianjun Zhang,Yueming Xu,Tao Li,Raymond C. Stevens,Fei Xu,Min Zhuang,Suwen Zhao,Fei Zhao,Houchao Tao +12 more
TL;DR: A group of affinity probes were designed and characterized to facilitate the turn-on fluorescence labeling of SMO at the ε-amine of K395 and only bears a very small fluorophore, which should allow the probe to serve as a potential tool for monitoring SMO trafficking, understanding Hh activation mechanisms, and even the diagnosis of tumorigenesis in the future.

DPY30 acts as an ASH2L-specific stabilizer to stimulate the enzyme activity of MLL family methyltransferases on different substrates
Lijie Zhao,Naizhe Huang,Jun Mencius,Yanjing Li,Ying Xu,Yongxin Zheng,Wei He,Na Li,Jun Zheng,Min Zhuang,Shu Quan,Yong Chen +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , a nucleosome-independent and nucleosomal-specific mechanism was proposed to regulate the methyltransferase activity of mixed lineage leukemia (MLL) family complex.
