Spatio-Temporal Transcriptional Dynamics of Maize Long Non-Coding RNAs Responsive to Drought Stress
TL;DR: A genome-wide lncRNA transcriptional analysis in response to drought stress using an expanded series of maize samples collected from three distinct tissues spanning four developmental stages found that the reproductive stage R1 was the most sensitive growth stage with more lncRNAs showing altered expression upon drought stress.

Maize ABP2 enhances tolerance to drought and salt stress in transgenic Arabidopsis
TL;DR: It is found that ROS levels were reduced and expression of stress-responsive and carbon metabolism-related genes was enhanced by constitutive ABP2 expression in transgenic plants, which can enhance both drought and salt tolerance of plants.

Maize NCP1 negatively regulates drought and ABA responses through interacting with and inhibiting the activity of transcription factor ABP9
TL;DR: The identification of an ABP9-interacting protein, named ABP Nine Complex Protein 1 (NCP1) and its functional characterization suggest that NCP1 is a novel negative regulator of ABA signaling via interacting with and inhibiting the activity of ABP 9.

Kernel size-related genes revealed by an integrated eQTL analysis during early maize kernel development.
Junling Pang,Junjie Fu,Na Zong,Jing Wang,Dandan Song,Xia Zhang,Cheng He,Ting Fang,Hongwei Zhang,Yunliu Fan,Guoying Wang,Jun Zhao +11 more
TL;DR: This study highlights how an eQTL approach can bolster the impact of both GWAS and QTT studies and can drive insights about the basic biology of plants.
