TL;DR: The findings reveal that fluoxetine confers an antidepressant effect partly through inhibition of peripheral and central NLRP3 inflammasome activation and suggest the potential clinical use of fluoxettine in NLRP2 inflammaome-driven inflammatory diseases such as depression.
