Xiaojing Gong,Jingyuan Li,Hangjun Lu,Hangjun Lu,Rongzheng Wan,Jichen Li,Jun Hu,Jun Hu,Haiping Fang +8 more
TL;DR: A design for a molecular water pump that uses a combination of charges positioned adjacent to a nanopore and is inspired by the structure of channels in the cellular membrane that conduct water in and out of the cell (aquaporins).

Asymmetric transportation induced by thermal noise at the nanoscale
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors theoretically show that asymmetric transportation is possible in nanoscale systems experiencing thermal noise without the presence of external fluctuations, without violating the second law of thermodynamics, since extra energy is required to keep the asymmetric structure against thermal fluctuations.
