All-fiber photon-pair source for quantum communications: Improved generation of correlated photons.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate greatly improved results for the production of correlated photon-pairs using the four-photon scattering process in silica fiber, achieving a true-coincidence-to-incidence count ratio greater than 10, when the photon-pair production rate is about 0.04 /pulse.

Quantum-correlated twin photons from microstructure fiber.
TL;DR: A source of correlated photon pairs that relies on spontaneous parametric scattering in microstructure fiber and careful adjustment of the pump wavelength and polarization are shown to be critical to observing quantum correlations.
Generation of high purity telecom-band entangled photon-pairs in dispersion-shifted fiber
Kim Fook Lee,Jun Chen,Chuang Liang,Xiaoying Li,Paul L. Voss,Prem Kumar +5 more
- 21 May 2006
TL;DR: In this article, entangled photon-pairs were generated from dispersion-shifted fiber at various temperatures and two-photon interference with 98% visibility and Bellpsilas inequality violation by > 8 standard deviations were observed at 77 K, without subtracting background Raman photons.

Distribution of Fiber-Generated Polarization Entangled Photon-Pairs over 100 km of Standard Fiber in OC-192 WDM Environment
Chuang Liang,Kim Fook Lee,Jun Chen,Prem Kumar +3 more
- 05 Mar 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate distribution of polarization entanglement over 100 km in a WDM environment and show that two-photon interference with visibility >90% is observed in coincidence detection of photon-pairs that have traveled with classical data signals, one on adjacent channel.

A single-photon detector for high-speed telecom-band quantum communication applications
Chuang Liang,Kim Fook Lee,Paul L. Voss,Eric Corndorf,Gregory S. Kanter,Jun Chen,Xiaoying Li,Prem Kumar +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a high-speed telecom-band single-photon counting system based on an InGaAs/InP avalanche photodiode (APD) operating in the gated Geiger mode is presented.
