Holocene ice-stream shutdown and drainage basin reconfiguration in northeast Greenland
Steven Franke,Paul D. Bons,Julien Westhoff,Ilka Weikusat,Tobias Binder,Kyra Streng,Daniel Steinhage,Veit Helm,Olaf Eisen,John Paden,Graeme Eagles,Daniela Jansen +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors use radio-echo sounding data to decipher the regional ice-flow history of the northeastern Greenland ice sheet on the basis of its internal stratigraphy, and map folds deep below the surface that they then attribute to the deformation caused by now-extinct ice streams.
Chemical and visual characterisation of EGRIP glacial ice and cloudy bands within
Pascal Bohleber,Julien Westhoff,Julien Westhoff,Nicolas Stoll,Matija Zupan,Cécilia Bognon,Cécilia Bognon,Ya-Hui Yu +7 more
- 17 Jan 2023
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors classified almost 1300 cloudy bands from glacial ice from the East Greenland Ice-core Project (EGRIP) ice core into seven different types and determined the localisation and mineralogy of more than 1000 micro-inclusions at 13 depths.
Deformation Features and Disturbances in the Stratigraphy of the EastGRIP Ice Core
Julien Westhoff,Ilka Weikusat,Sepp Kipfstuhl,Daniela Jansen,Anders Svensson,Dorthe Dahl-Jensen +5 more
- 11 Apr 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, the EastGRIP (East GReenland Ice core Project) ice core is used to increase our understanding of ice flow and linking it to deformation features shown in the physical properties.
Greenland ice-stream dynamics: short-lived and agile?
Ilka Weikusat,Olaf Eisen,John Paden,Tobias Binder,Veit Helm,Paul D. Bons,Julien Westhoff,Julien Westhoff,Daniela Jansen,Graeme Eagles,Daniel Steinhage,Steven Franke +11 more

TL;DR: In this article , the authors use radio-echo sounding data to decipher the regional ice-flow history of the northeastern Greenland ice sheet on the basis of its internal stratigraphy, and map folds deep below the surface that they then attribute to the deformation caused by now-extinct ice streams.
Characterisation of multi-scale deformation in NEGIS from microstructure analysis of the EastGRIP ice core
Ilka Weikusat,Johanna Kerch,Paul D. Bons,Julien Westhoff,Julien Westhoff,Daniela Jansen,Nicolas Stoll +6 more
- 15 May 2023
TL;DR: In this article , a microstructural analysis of more than 1000 thin section samples from the East Greenland Ice Core Project (EastGRIP) ice core that is being drilled at the onset of the fast-flowing North East Greenland ice Stream (NEGIS) since 2017, focusing on the grain boundary network and bubbles.
