Identification of a quadruple mutation that confers tenofovir resistance in chronic hepatitis B patients
Eun Sook Park,Ah Ram Lee,Doo Hyun Kim,Jeong Hoon Lee,Jeong-Ju Yoo,Sung Hyun Ahn,Heewoo Sim,Soree Park,Hong Seok Kang,Juhee Won,Yea Na Ha,Gu Choul Shin,So Young Kwon,Yong Kwang Park,Byeong Sun Choi,Yun Bin Lee,Nakcheol Jeong,Yohan An,Young Seok Ju,Su Jong Yu,Hee Bok Chae,Kyung Sang Yu,Yoon Jun Kim,Jung Hwan Yoon,Fabien Zoulim,Kyun-Hwan Kim +25 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate that tenofovir-resistant HBV mutants can emerge, although the genetic barrier is high, and reveal that the quadruple (CYEI) mutation increases the amount of ten ofovir required to inhibit HBV by 15.3-fold in IC50 and 26.3% in IC90.

Multiple Functions of Cellular FLIP Are Essential for Replication of Hepatitis B Virus.
Ah Ram Lee,Keo Heun Lim,Eun Sook Park,Doo Hyun Kim,Yong Kwang Park,Soree Park,Dong-Sik Kim,Gu Choul Shin,Hong Seok Kang,Juhee Won,Heewoo Sim,Yea Na Ha,Byeongjune Jae,Seong Il Choi,Kyun-Hwan Kim +14 more
TL;DR: The knockdown of endogenous c-FLIP revealed that this protein regulates HBV replication through two different mechanisms, which may provide a new target for intervention in persistent HBV infection.

Suppression of Hepatocyte Nuclear Factor 4 α by Long-term Infection of Hepatitis B Virus Contributes to Tumor Cell Proliferation
Soree Park,Yea Na Ha,Mehrangiz Dezhbord,Ah Ram Lee,Eun Sook Park,Yong Kwang Park,Juhee Won,Na Yeon Kim,Soo Yeun Choo,Jae Jin Shin,Chang Hyun Ahn,Kyun-Hwan Kim +11 more
TL;DR: Proof of the effect of HBV infection in manipulating the HNF4α regulatory pathway in HCC development is provided, which increased cell proliferation, which contributed to the formation and development of tumor in xenograft nude mice.
Clinical and genetic analysis of a Korean patient with late-onset X-linked adrenal hypoplasia congenita and hypogonadotropic hypogonadism: identification of a novel mutation in the NR0B1 gene.
Yong-Wha Lee,Juhee Won,Chang-Seok Ki,Lee Hy,Ahn Hs,You Kyoung Lee,Yong Hoon Kim,Chul-Hee Kim +7 more
TL;DR: Although AHC is believed to be rare, it should be considered in a differential diagnosis of patients showing late-onset primary adrenal insufficiency, after encountering a 23-year old Korean male with delayedonset AHC/HHG who had been previously diagnosed with adrenal Insufficiency of unknown aetiology at age 13 years.

Distinctive HBV Replication Capacity and Susceptibility to Tenofovir Induced by a Polymerase Point Mutation in Hepatoma Cell Lines and Primary Human Hepatocytes.
Ah Ram Lee,Ju Yeon Cho,Jong Chul Kim,Mehrangiz Dezhbord,Soo Yeun Choo,Chang Hyun Ahn,Na Yeon Kim,Jae Jin Shin,Soree Park,Eun Sook Park,Juhee Won,Dong-Sik Kim,Jeong Hoon Lee,Kyun-Hwan Kim +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the role of the threonine to alanine mutation on the reverse-transcriptase (RT) domain has been investigated, and it was found that the rtT301A mutation dramatically impaired the replication ability with meaningful reduction in sensitivity to tenofovir in hepatoma cell lines.
