Design of self-destructive electron acceptors. Highly efficient cleavage of C-C bonds in photogenerated radical anions
TL;DR: In this paper, the design of self-destructive electron acceptors, radical anions of which undergo rapid fragmentation on the micro-to nanosecond time scale, yielding PET systems with quantum yields approaching unity.

Transition-state polarization in cleavage of C-C bonds in radical anions
TL;DR: The substituent effect on the rate of C-C bond cleavage in radical anions of 1-(4-nitrophenyl)-2-(substituted-phenyl)-1,1,2,2-tetraethylethanes has been explored in this article.

Carbon-Carbon Bond Cleavage in Photogenerated Radical Anions
Przemyslaw Maslak,Jozef Kula +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the first examples of C-C bond cleavage in photogenerated radical anions were presented. But the observed rates indicate that the activation energies for cleavage are only slightly higher than the free energies of the reactions, even for near-thermoneutral reactions.

Photoinduced electron transfer between aromatic amines and alkyl nitriles.
Przemyslaw Maslak,Jozef Kula +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that irradiation of aromatic amines in the presence of alkyl nitriles leads to efficient electron-transfer reactions, resulting in amination or alkylation of the aromatic moieties.
