Why is less cationic lipid required to prepare lipoplexes from plasmid DNA than linear DNA in gene therapy
Mónica Muñoz-Úbeda,Santosh K. Misra,Santosh K. Misra,Ana L. Barrán-Berdón,Ana L. Barrán-Berdón,Clara Aicart-Ramos,Clara Aicart-Ramos,María Belén Sierra,María Belén Sierra,Joydeep Biswas,Joydeep Biswas,Paturu Kondaiah,Paturu Kondaiah,Elena Junquera,Elena Junquera,Santanu Bhattacharya,Santanu Bhattacharya,Emilio Aicart,Emilio Aicart +18 more
TL;DR: For the first time, for different types of CLs, pDNA, in contrast to linear DNA, is compacted with a large amount of its counterions, yielding a lower effective negative charge, which is significant for both in vitro and in vivo transfection studies.

Effect of electrolyte on the supercapacitive behaviour of copper oxide/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite
TL;DR: In this article, the morphology, elemental composition, and bonding network of the CuO/rGOnanocomposites were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopic (XPS) and Raman spectrographs respectively.

How does spacer length of imidazolium gemini surfactants control the fabrication of 2D-Langmuir films of silver-nanoparticles at the air–water interface?
TL;DR: A series of gemini surfactants based on cationic imidazolium ring as polar headgroup, abbreviated as [Im-n-Im], 2Br(-) (n=2, 5, 6 and 12), was synthesized and their ability to stabilize silver nanoparticles in aqueous media was investigated.

Role of spacer lengths of gemini surfactants in the synthesis of silver nanorods in micellar media
TL;DR: The growth of Ag-nanorods in the gemini micellar solutions depends on the spacer-chain length of gemini surfactants employed, and this work has shown that the λ(max) of the longitudinal band shifted more towards the blue region compared to that of the gemina surfactant micelles with a longer spacer -(CH(2))(n)- (n = 5, 12).
