Activities of CaMV 35S and nos promoters in pollen: implications for field release of transgenic plants
Joy E. Wilkinson,David Twell,Keith Lindsey +2 more
- 01 Feb 1997
TL;DR: The results show that both promoters had no detectable pollen activity in Arabidopsis, but both showed activity in tobacco pollen, and the activities of the CaMV 35S and nos promoters in pollen in populations of stably transformed plants and in transient expression analysis are described.
Methanol does not specifically inhibit endogenous β-glucuronidase (GUS) activity
TL;DR: The results described in this paper suggest this phenomenon may be explained by the effect methanol has on cell membranes and demonstrate that it does not specifically inhibit endogenous GUS activity.

Antisense-mediated suppression of transgene expression targeted specifically to pollen
TL;DR: Results showed that 30 out of 34 independent lines exhibited a significant antisense effect in pollen, confirming the effectiveness of pollen-targeted antisense startegy to reduce undesirable expression in pollen independent of expression level in pollen.

Gene Expression at Sites of Wounding, Pathogen Invasion & Phenylpropanoid Synthesis in Monocots and Dicots
John Draper,Simon A. J. Warner,Robert Darby,Simon Firek,Luis A. J. Mur,Karl Deacon,Aideen Gill,Joy E. Wilkinson +7 more
- 01 Jan 1993
TL;DR: Harikrishna et al. as discussed by the authors evaluated a novel system which allows the facile isolation of proteins and mRNA found specifically in wound site cells, which has enabled the construction of cDNA libraries enriched for genes expressed at the wound surface.
