Sebastiaan Y. Haffert,Jared R. Males,Kyohoon Ahn,Kyle Van Gorkom,Olivier Guyon,Laird M. Close,Joseph Long,Alex Hedglen,Lauren Schatz,Maggie Kautz,Jennifer Lumbres,Alex Rodack,Justin Knight,Kelsey Miller +13 more
- 24 Mar 2023
TL;DR: In this paper , an implicit electric field conjugation (iEFC) is proposed to remove the non-common path aberrations (NCPA) by active focal plane wavefront control using a data-driven approach.

Jared R. Males,Laird M. Close,Sebastiaan Y. Haffert,Joseph Long,Alex Hedglen,Logan A. Pearce,M. Weinberger,Olivier Guyon,Justin Knight,Avalon L McLeod,Maggie Kautz,Kyle Van Gorkom,Jennifer Lumbres,Lauren Schatz,Alex Rodack,Victor Gasho,Jay Kueny,Warren B. Foster +17 more
- 15 Aug 2022
TL;DR: MagAO-X as mentioned in this paper is a 2000 actuator, 3.6 kHz adaptive optics and coronagraph system for the Magellan Clay 6.5 m telescope optimized for high contrast imaging at visible wavelengths, ranging from very young, still-accreting planets detected at H-alpha to older temperate planets which will be characterized using reflected starlight.
Lab tests of segment/petal phasing with a pyramid wavefront sensor and a holographic dispersed fringe sensor in turbulence with the Giant Magellan Telescope high contrast adaptive optics phasing testbed
Alex Hedglen,Laird M. Close,Sebastiaan Y. Haffert,Jared R. Males,Maggie Kautz,Antonin Bouchez,Richard A. Demers,Fernando Quiros-Pacheco,Breann N. Sitarski,Olivier Guyon,Kyle Van Gorkom,Joseph Long,Jennifer Lumbres,Lauren Schatz,Kelsey Miller,Alex Rodack,Justin Knight +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a prototype of a GMT high contrast adaptive optics phasing testbed is presented to demonstrate segment phase sensing and simultaneous AO-control for high-contrast natural guide star science.
