Correlation-induced valley topology in buckled graphene superlattices
A. L. R. Manesco,Jose L. Lado +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate the emergence of valley topology driven by competing electronic correlations in buckled graphene superlattices and show that the existence of long-range electronic correlations leads to a competition between antiferromagnetic and charge density wave instabilities, that can be controlled by means of screening engineering.

Tunable moire spinons in magnetically encapsulated twisted van der Waals quantum spin liquids
Guangze Chen,Jose L. Lado +1 more
- 24 Sep 2021
TL;DR: In this paper, a twisted van der Waals heterostructure based on a quantum spin-liquid bilayer encapsulated between ferromagnetic insulators is proposed, where the emergence of spinon flat bands and topological spinon states in such heterostructures is driven by the twist.

Machine learning the Kondo entanglement cloud from local measurements
TL;DR: Machine learning maps entanglement cloud from local measurements in Kondo systems, bypassing long-range correlators.

Local probe-induced structural isomerization in a one-dimensional molecular array
Shigeki Kawai,Orlando J. Silveira,Lauri T. Kurki,Tomohiko Nishiuchi,Takuya Kodama,Oscar Custance,Jose L. Lado,Takashi Kubo,Adam S Foster +8 more
TL;DR: Researchers demonstrate local probe-induced structural isomerization in a one-dimensional molecular array on Ag(111), achieving controlled transformation of diradical and dehydroazulene moieties via tip-induced voltage pulses and density functional theory calculations.
