Measuring [18F]FDG uptake in breast cancer during chemotherapy: comparison of analytical methods
Nanda C. Krak,Jacobus J.M. van der Hoeven,Otto S. Hoekstra,Jos W. R. Twisk,Elsken van der Wall,Adriaan A. Lammertsma +5 more
TL;DR: Three methods with different degrees of complexity appear to be promising alternatives to NLR for measuring glucose metabolism in breast cancer: Patlak, SKM and SUV (normalised for LBM and with a correction for plasma glucose).

Relationship between physical activity and bone mineral status in young adults: the Northern Ireland Young Hearts Project.
Charlotte E. Neville,Liam J. Murray,Colin Boreham,Alison M. Gallagher,Jos W. R. Twisk,Paula J. Robson,J M Savage,Hcg Kemper,Stuart H. Ralston,G Davey Smith +9 more
TL;DR: The results demonstrate the importance of sports activities, especially those involving high peak strain, in determining peak bone status in young men, and intervention studies are warranted to determine whether peak bone density in women can be improved by participating, during childhood and adolescence, in sports activities involving highpeak strain.

Quantification of Left Ventricular Volumes and Ejection Fraction Using Freehand Transthoracic Three-Dimensional Echocardiography: Comparison With Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Herman F.J. Mannaerts,Johannes A. van der Heide,Otto Kamp,Theano Papavassiliu,J.T. Marcus,Aernout M. Beek,Albert C. van Rossum,Jos W. R. Twisk,Cees A. Visser +8 more
TL;DR: 3DE using the freehand method is fast and highly reproducible for (serial) LV volume and EF measurement, and, hence, ideally suited for clinical decision making and trials.

A.M.W. Spijkerman,M. A. Gall,Lise Tarnow,Jos W. R. Twisk,E. Lauritzen,H. Lund-Andersen,J.J. Emeis,H.-H. Parving,H.-H. Parving,Coen D.A. Stehouwer +9 more
TL;DR: The objective is to study whether microalbuminuria, endothelial dysfunction and low‐grade inflammation are associated with the presence and progression of diabetic retinopathy.

Energy density, energy costs and income - how are they related?
Wilma E Waterlander,Wendy E de Haas,Inge van Amstel,Albertine J. Schuit,Jos W. R. Twisk,Marjolein Visser,Jacob C. Seidell,Ingrid H M Steenhuis +7 more
TL;DR: In the Netherlands, energy density was inversely related with energy costs, implying that healthier diets cost more, however, differences in energy density or costs between income levels could not be found.
