The invention relates to a controller for a motor vehicle for the wireless communication with at least one peripheral unit, comprising at least one receiver unit (1) for receiving radio signals for standard applications, and at least one receiver unit (2) for receiving radio signals for long-range applications, the signals being emitted by the peripheral unit at different frequencies for the standard applications and the long-range applications. The controller further comprises at least one antenna (ANT1) for one or both receiver units (1,2), and a control unit (4) for controlling the two receiver unit (1, 2) and for evaluating signals from the two receiver units (1, 2).

The invention relates to a method for operating an authorization device (2) for a keyless access to and start of a vehicle (1), comprising a portable ID transmitter (3) which has a movement sensor (4). A wireless communication connection (5) can be established between the authorization device (2) and the ID transmitter (3) in order to exchange data telegrams. The keyless access to the vehicle (1) is allowed only if a point in time of a last ID transmitter (3) movement detected by the movement sensor (4) lies within a specified time interval, and the authorization device (2) allows the keyless start of the vehicle (1) only if the keyless access to the vehicle (1) was allowed beforehand.

The first transmitter unit(s) transmits at a first frequency (f1) and the transmitter unit(s) in the further system transmits at a different second frequency (f2). A single receiver unit for the two systems can simultaneously receive and extract data sent at both frequencies.

wobei fur das funkfernbedienbare Zentralverriegelungssystem und das weitere
funkunterstutzte System nur eine einzige Empfangseinheit verwendet wird, die Mittel zum
zeitgleichen Empfang und zur zeitgleichen getrennten Extraktion der auf den beiden
Frequenzen (f 1 ,f 2 ) gesendeten Daten aufweist.
