Patent
Image sensor with improved light sensitivity
Takayuki Kijima,Hideo Nakamura,John Thomas Compton,John F. Hamilton,Deweese Thomas Edward +4 more
- 10 May 2007
TL;DR: In this paper, an image sensor for capturing a color image is disclosed having a two-dimensional array having first and second groups of pixels wherein pixels from the first group of pixels have narrower spectral photoresponses than pixels from a second group.

Patent
Providing multiple video signals from single sensor
Amy Dawn Enge,John Thomas Compton,Bruce Harold Pillman +2 more
- 24 Sep 2007
TL;DR: In this article, a method for using a capture device to capture at least two video signals corresponding to a scene was proposed, which includes: providing a two-dimensional image sensor having a plurality of pixels, reading a first group of pixels from the image sensor at a first frame rate to produce a first video signal of the image scene, and then reading a second group of pixel from the camera at a second frame rate for producing a second video signal; and using at least one of the video signals for adjusting one or more of the capture device parameters.

Processing color and panchromatic pixels
John F. Hamilton,John Thomas Compton +1 more
- 20 Jul 2006
TL;DR: In this article, a method for forming a final digital color image using an image sensor having panchromatic pixels and color pixels corresponding to at least two color photoresponses was proposed.

Patent
Multiple component readout of image sensor
John F. Hamilton,John Thomas Compton +1 more
- 20 Jul 2007
TL;DR: In this article, a method for obtaining image data from an image sensor array including the steps of providing a first component subset of panchromatic pixels for integrating charge and a second component subsets of color pixels for computing charge was proposed.

Patent
Exposing pixel groups in producing digital images
Aaron Thomas Deever,Bruce Harold Pillman,John Thomas Compton,Amy Dawn Enge +3 more
- 30 Mar 2010
TL;DR: In this article, a method for producing a digital image from pixel signals captured by an image sensor array is proposed, where the pixels of each group are uniformly distributed over the sensor, and the first and second sets of pixel signals are used to produce the digital image.
