Direction and location dependency of selective laser melted AlSi10Mg specimens
Leonhard Hitzler,Christoph Janousch,Jochen Schanz,Markus Merkel,B. Heine,Florian Mack,Wayne Hall,Andreas Öchsner +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a precipitation-hardenable AlSi10Mg alloy with the main focus on the positioning and inclination effects was studied on six characteristic orientations, and the superimposed effects based on the surface condition and thermal post-treatment were taken into account.

Laser Polishing of Additive Manufactured AlSi10Mg Parts with an Oscillating Laser Beam
Jochen Schanz,Markus Hofele,Leonhard Hitzler,Markus Merkel,Harald Riegel +4 more
- 01 Jan 2016
TL;DR: In this paper, a disk laser with a maximum power of 4 kW in combination with a 1D scanner system was used to reduce the surface roughness by up to 92 %.

Additive Manufacturing of Bulk Nanocrystalline FeNdB Based Permanent Magnets.
TL;DR: In this paper, a special inert gas process chamber for laser powder bed fusion was used to realize bulk nanocrystalline Fe-Nd-B based permanent magnets, which achieved a maximum coercivity of µ0Hc = 1.16 T, remanence Jr = 0.58 T and maximum energy density of (BH)max = 62.3 kJ/m3.

Metallurgical investigations of laser remelted additively manufactured AlSi10Mg parts
Jochen Schanz,Markus Hofele,Simon Ruck,Tim Schubert,Leonhard Hitzler,Gerhard Schneider,Markus Merkel,Harald Riegel +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, additively manufactured AlSi10Mg samples were polished with different laser intensities and laser modes to reduce the surface roughness and enhance the surface appearance of as-built surfaces.
