Magnetic Resonance Imaging-targeted Biopsy Versus Systematic Biopsy in the Detection of Prostate Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis.
Veeru Kasivisvanathan,Armando Stabile,Armando Stabile,Joana B. Neves,Francesco Giganti,Francesco Giganti,Massimo Valerio,Yaalini Shanmugabavan,Keiran D. Clement,Debashis Sarkar,Yiannis Philippou,David Thurtle,Jonathan J Deeks,Jonathan J Deeks,Mark Emberton,Mark Emberton,Yemisi Takwoingi,Yemisi Takwoingi,Caroline M. Moore +18 more
TL;DR: MRI-TB is an attractive alternative diagnostic strategy to systematic biopsy for diagnosing prostate cancer and biopsies targeted to suspicious areas on magnetic resonance imaging were better at detecting prostate cancer that needs to be treated and avoiding the diagnosis of disease that does not need treatment.

Mapping single-cell transcriptomes in the intra-tumoral and associated territories of kidney cancer
Ruoyan Li,John R. Ferdinand,Kevin W. Loudon,Georgina Bowyer,Sean Laidlaw,Francesc Muyas,Lira Mamanova,Joana B. Neves,Liam Bolt,Eirini S. Fasouli,Andrew R. J. Lawson,Matthew D. TL;DR: In this article , the authors performed a comprehensive molecular characterization of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and found that the tissue-type location of CD8+ T cell clonotypes largely defines their exhaustion state with intra-tumoral spatial heterogeneity that is not well explained by somatic heterogeneity.

Guideline adherence for the surgical treatment of T1 renal tumours correlates with hospital volume: an analysis from the British Association of Urological Surgeons Nephrectomy Audit
Maxine G. B. Tran,Maxine G. B. Tran,Katja K.H. Aben,Erik van Werkhoven,Joana B. Neves,Joana B. Neves,Sarah Fowler,Mark Sullivan,Grant D. Stewart,Grant D. Stewart,Ben Challacombe,Ahmed Mahrous,Prasad Patki,Faiz Mumtaz,Ravi Barod,Axel Bex +15 more
TL;DR: To assess European Association of Urology guideline adherence on the surgical management of patients with T1 renal tumours and the effects of centralisation of care, a large number of patients have received centralised care.
Protocol for a feasibility study of a cohort embedded randomised controlled trial comparing NEphron Sparing Treatment (NEST) for small renal masses
Joana B. Neves,David Cullen,Lee Alexander Grant,Miles Walkden,Steve Bandula,Prasad Patki,Ravi Barod,Faiz Mumtaz,Michael Aitchison,Elena Pizzo,Veronica Ranieri,Norman R. Williams,William Wildgoose,Kurinchi Selvan Gurusamy,Mark Emberton,Axel Bex,Maxine G. B. Tran +16 more
TL;DR: This feasibility study aims to assess if a novel trial design, the cohort embedded randomised controlled trial (RCT), will enable carrying out a head-to-head comparison with standard of care comparison of nephron sparing interventions.

Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease and coronary artery dissection or aneurysm: a systematic review.
TL;DR: Clinical disparities may suggest a different mechanism of aneurysm formation compared to the population without AD PKD, and Mutation of ADPKD-related genes may predispose to coronary abnormalities, especially aneurYSms.
