An ice-templated, pH-tunable self-assembly route to hierarchically porous graphene nanoscroll networks.
Young-Eun Shin,Young Jin Sa,Seungyoung Park,Jiwon Lee,Kyung-Hee Shin,Sang Hoon Joo,Hyunhyub Ko +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that freeze-casting of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) solution results in the formation of 3D porous graphene microfoam below pH 8 and hierarchically porous graphene nanoscroll networks at pH 10.

Tailoring surface plasmons of high-density gold nanostar assemblies on metal films for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy
TL;DR: The fabrication of ultrasensitive SERS substrates based on high-density gold nanostar assemblies on silver films with tailored surface plasmons are described, where multiple field enhancements from particle-film and interparticle plasmon couplings and lightening rod effects of sharp tips of nanostars contribute to the enormous Raman enhancements.
Transparent and Flexible Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) Sensors Based on Gold Nanostar Arrays Embedded in Silicon Rubber Film.
TL;DR: A transparent and flexible SERS substrate with high sensitivity based on a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) film embedded with gold nanostar (GNS) assemblies is demonstrated, which is applicable to various SERS sensing applications on nonplanar surfaces, which are not achievable for hard SERS substrates.

Particle–Film Plasmons on Periodic Silver Film over Nanosphere (AgFON): A Hybrid Plasmonic Nanoarchitecture for Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy
TL;DR: It is shown that the periodicity of AgFON substrates and the particle-film gaps greatly affects the surface plasmon resonances, and thus, the SERS effects due to the interplay between multiple plAsmonic couplings.
