Broadband carrier frequency selection
Neil Fanning,Steve Carl Jamieson Parker,Jiun Siew,Siew Chung Leong,Rafael Arcangel Cepeda Lopez +4 more
- 01 May 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method of dynamically selecting carrier frequencies for carrying a broadband channel, the method comprising: allocate a group of carrier frequency for carrying the broadband channel; identify a number of alterative groups of carrier frequencies; monitor channel performance for the allocated group of frequency frequencies; reallocate the channel to be carried by one of the alternative groups of frequency in response to the monitored channel performance degrading below a threshold.

A comparison of MIMO-OFDM and MIMO-SCFDE in WLAN environments
Justin P. Coon,Jiun Siew,Mark A Beach,Andrew R Nix,Simon Armour,JP McGeehan +5 more
- 01 Dec 2003
TL;DR: This paper compares the theoretical performance of OFDM and SCFDE when each is implemented in one of two different multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) architectures: spatial multiplexing and space-time block codes.
A channel estimation algorithm for MIMO-SCFDE
Jiun Siew,Justin P. Coon,Robert J. Piechocki,A. Dowler,Andrew R Nix,Mark A Beach,Simon Armour,JP McGeehan +7 more
TL;DR: A novel method for channel estimation in a single-carrier multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) system with frequency-domain equalization/detection is proposed and results show that the algorithm performs identically to other proposed LS techniques.
A Channel Estimation Method for MIMO-OFDM Systems
Jiun Siew,Robert J. Piechocki,Andrew R Nix,Simon Armour +3 more
- 01 Jan 2002
TL;DR: This paper proposes a simple and efficient method for MIMO-OFDM channel estimation using parameters similar to HIPERLAN/2, and shows that the proposed methods incur a maximum loss of approximately 1 to 1.5dB as compared to perfect channel knowledge.
A bandwidth efficient channel estimation algorithm for MIMO-SCFDE
Jiun Siew,Justin P. Coon,Robert J. Piechocki,Andrew R Nix,Mark A Beach,Simon Armour,JP McGeehan +6 more
- 01 Oct 2003
TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a channel estimation method for single-carrier MIMO systems with frequency-domain equalization/detection, which is extremely bandwidth efficient in that the total training overhead required to obtain full CSI is just one block period.
