High-grade dysplasia of the cystic duct margin in the absence of malignancy after cholecystectomy
Kai A. Bickenbach,Jinru Shia,David S. Klimstra,Ronald P. DeMatteo,Yuman Fong,T. Peter Kingham,Peter J. Allen,William R. Jarnagin,Michael I. D’Angelica +8 more
TL;DR: High-grade dysplasia at the cystic duct margin without evidence of invasive gallbladder cancer is rare and patients with this finding should undergo cross-sectional imaging and a diagnosis of an underlying cholangiocarcinoma should be considered, especially if imaging reveals any abnormalities.

Histopathological growth patterns and positive margins after resection of colorectal liver metastases.
Pieter M. H. Nierop,Diederik J. Höppener,Eric P. van der Stok,Boris Galjart,Florian E. Buisman,Vinod P. Balachandran,William R. Jarnagin,T. Peter Kingham,Peter J. Allen,Jinru Shia,Peter B. Vermeulen,Bas Groot Koerkamp,Dirk J. Grünhagen,Cornelis Verhoef,Michael I. D’Angelica +14 more
TL;DR: Patients with non-dHGP are at higher risk of positive resection margins after resection of CRLM, and despite this association, both positive resections margins and non-hGP are independent prognostic indicators of worse overall survival.

The accuracy of pre‐operative imaging in the management of hepatic cysts
Alexandre Doussot,Jill Gluskin,Bas Groot-Koerkamp,Peter J. Allen,Ronald P. De Matteo,Jinru Shia,T. Peter Kingham,William R. Jarnagin,Scott R. Gerst,Michael I. D’Angelica +9 more
TL;DR: Radiological assessment of hepatic cysts is relatively inaccurate as SLC frequently present with concerning features, and in the absence of a strong suspicion of malignancy, fenestration and FS should be considered prior to a complete resection.

Phase II study of cixutumumab (IMC-A12, NSC742460; C) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Ghassan K. Abou-Alfa,Bolorsukh Gansukh,Joanne F. Chou,Jinru Shia,M. Capanu,M. Kalin,Helen X. Chen,N. J. Zojwalla,Seth S. Katz,Diane Lauren Reidy,David P. Kelsen,L. B. Saltz +11 more
TL;DR: C is inactive as monotherapy in HCC, and there was noted a positive correlation between elevation of IGFBP-1 and PFS and worse CLIP and GETCH scores correlated with worse OS.
23
Smooth muscle tumors of the gastrointestinal tract: an analysis of prognostic features in 407 cases

Cooper,Rajeswari Nagarathinam,Andrew M. Bellizzi,Sanjay Kakar,Mojgan Hosseini,Juan Rong,Joel K. Greenson,Laura W. Lamps,Zachary Dong,Mary P. Bronner +58 more
TL;DR: It appears that nonesophageal gastrointestinal smooth muscle tumors measuring >10 cm and/or showing ≥3 mitoses/5 mm 2 may behave aggressively, and therefore close clinical follow-up is recommended in these cases.
