Highly efficient water‐soluble visible light photoinitiators
Stephan Benedikt,Jieping Wang,Mmarica Markovic,Norbert Moszner,Kurt Dietliker,Aleksandr Ovsianikov,Hansjörg Grützmacher,Robert Liska +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a new class of water-soluble photoinitiators (PIs) for radical polymerization was proposed, which achieved state-of-the-art biocompatibility, storage stability and reactivity.

Star‐shaped Polymers through Simple Wavelength‐Selective Free‐Radical Photopolymerization
Anna Eibel,David E. Fast,Jürgen Sattelkow,Michal Zalibera,Michal Zalibera,Jieping Wang,A. Huber,Georgina Müller,Dmytro Neshchadin,Kurt Dietliker,Harald Plank,Hansjörg Grützmacher,Georg Gescheidt +12 more
TL;DR: A straightforward synthesis of wavelength-selective multifunctional photoinitiators that contain a bisacylphosphane oxide (BAPO) group and an α-hydroxy ketone moiety within one molecule is reported, thereby allowing the synthesis of ABC-type miktoarm star polymers through a simple, highly selective, and robust free-radical polymerization method.

A Simple Preparation of Photoactive Glass Surfaces Allowing Coatings via the "Grafting-from" Method.
Marco Sangermano,Monica Periolatto,Micaela Castellino,Jieping Wang,Kurt Dietliker,Joëlle Levalois Grützmacher,Hansjörg Grützmacher,Hansjörg Grützmacher +7 more
TL;DR: A simple and straightforward synthesis was developed to prepare the siloxy-substituted bis(acylphosphane)oxide 4-(trimethoxysilyl)butyl-3-[bis(2,4,6-trimethylbenzoyl)phosphinoyl]-2-methyl-propionate TMESI(2)-BAPO and a new photoinitiator was successfully fixed to glass surfaces.
