The southward movement preference of large-scale persistent extreme precipitation events over the Yangtze River Valley during Mei-yu period
TL;DR: In this article , the authors identify the extreme precipitation events that affect a large area and have persistence of more than three days (LPEPEs) in China during 1961-2013, and they show that the southward extension is generated by the combined effect of the large-scale circulation configuration and the diabatic heating caused by largescale condensation.
