TL;DR: In this article, it has been demonstrated that the more closed divertor has a lower density threshold at the onset of detachment on EAST and the detachment density threshold will be reduced when the strike point moves towards the divertor corner.

TL;DR: In this article, the particle exhaust of the upper tungsten and lower carbon diverors in EAST has been preliminarily studied during the 2016 experimental campaign, and the density decay time during terminating gas puffing has been employed as a key parameter to evaluate the divertor particle exhaust performance.
