Temperature-Driven Planar Chirality Switching of a Pillar[5]arene-Based Molecular Universal Joint
Jiabin Yao,Wanhua Wu,Wenting Liang,Yujun Feng,Da-Yang Zhou,Jason J. Chruma,Gaku Fukuhara,Tadashi Mori,Yoshihisa Inoue,Cheng Yang +9 more
TL;DR: The study of an enantiopure bicyclic pillar-based molecular universal joint by single-crystal X-ray diffraction allowed for the first time the unequivocal assignment of the absolute configuration of a planar chiral pillar[5]arene by circular dichroism spectroscopy.

Ammonia-driven chirality inversion and enhancement in enantiodifferentiating photocyclodimerization of 2-anthracenecarboxylate mediated by diguanidino-γ-cyclodextrin.
Jiabin Yao,Zhiqiang Yan,Jiecheng Ji,Wanhua Wu,Cheng Yang,Masaki Nishijima,Gaku Fukuhara,Tadashi Mori,Yoshihisa Inoue +8 more
TL;DR: In the supramolecular photocyclodimerization of 2-anthracenecarboxylate mediated by 6(A),6(D)-diguanidino-γ-cyclodextrin, the chiral sense and enantiomeric excess of the photoproduct were dynamic functions of temperature and cosolvent to afford the (M)-anti head-to-head cyclodimer.

Guest-Binding-Induced Interhetero Hosts Charge Transfer Crystallization: Selective Coloration of Commonly Used Organic Solvents.
Yan Mi,Jingyu Ma,Wenting Liang,Chao Xiao,Wanhua Wu,Da-Yang Zhou,Jiabin Yao,Wenjia Sun,Junliang Sun,Guowei Gao,Xiaochuan Chen,Jason J. Chruma,Jason J. Chruma,Cheng Yang +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, an unprecedented interheteromacrocyclic hosts charge transfer (CT) crystals were generated by cooling organic solutions containing p-dimethoxybenzene-constituted pillar[5]arene (P5A) and p-benzoquinone-constitution constituted pillar [5]quinone (P 5Q).

Precise Manipulation of Temperature-Driven Chirality Switching of Molecular Universal Joints through Solvent Mixing.
Chunying Fan,Jiabin Yao,Guojuan Li,Cheng Guo,Wanhua Wu,Dan Su,Zhihui Zhong,Da-Yang Zhou,Yuliang Wang,Jason J. Chruma,Cheng Yang +10 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that temperature-driven chirality switching could also be realized by mixing two miscible organic solvents, in each of which chirability inversion is not accomplishable.

Switched enantioselectivity by solvent components and temperature in photocyclodimerization of 2-anthracenecarboxylate with 6A,6X-diguanidio−γ-cyclodextrins
Ji-Gao Yi,Wenting Liang,Xueqin Wei,Jiabin Yao,Zhiqiang Yan,Dan Su,Zhihui Zhong,Guowei Gao,Wanhua Wu,Cheng Yang +9 more
TL;DR: A series of 6 A,6 X -diguanidio- γ -cyclodextrins (CDs) were used as chiral hosts for mediating the enantiodifferentiating [4 + 4] photocyclodimerization of 2-anthracenecarboxylic acid (AC) as mentioned in this paper.
