Potential of UAVs for Monitoring Mudflat Morphodynamics (Application to the Seine Estuary, France)
Marion Jaud,Florent Grasso,Nicolas Le Dantec,Romaric Verney,Christophe Delacourt,Jérôme Ammann,Julien Deloffre,Philippe Grandjean +7 more
TL;DR: The potential of light UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) for monitoring sedimentary hydrodynamics at different spatial scales in a silty estuary is shown and the UAV dataset enables multi-scale approaches from the study of large areas to the Morphodynamics of smaller-scale sedimentary structures and the morphodynamics impact of plant ground cover.

GPS network monitors the Western Alps' deformation over a five-year period: 1993–1998
Christophe Vigny,Jean Chéry,T. Duquesnoy,François Jouanne,Jérôme Ammann,Marco Anzidei,Jean Philippe Avouac,François Barlier,Roger Bayer,Pierre Briole,Eric Calais,Fabrice Cotton,F. Duquenne,Kurt L. Feigl,G. Ferhat,Mireille Flouzat,Jean-François Gamond,Alain Geiger,A. Harmel,Michel Kasser,M. Laplanche,M. Le Pape,Joseph Martinod,G. Ménard,Bertrand Meyer,Jean-Claude Ruegg,J. M. Scheubel,Oona Scotti,G. Vidal +28 more
TL;DR: The GPS ALPES group, made up of French, Swiss and Italian research organizations, has achieved the first large-scale GPS surveys of the Western Alps More than 60 sites were surveyed in 1993 and 1998 with a minimum observation of 3 days at each site GPS data processing has been done by three independent teams using different software as discussed by the authors.

Direct sediment transfer from land to deep-sea: Insights into shallow multibeam bathymetry at La Réunion Island
Nathalie Babonneau,Christophe Delacourt,Romain Cancouët,E. Sisavath,E. Sisavath,Patrick Bachèlery,Patrick Bachèlery,Aude Mazuel,Stephan J. Jorry,Anne Deschamps,Jérôme Ammann,Nicolas Villeneuve +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed picture of canyon heads off La Reunion Island, with high-resolution multibeam bathymetry in the water depth range of 4-220m, is presented.

A comprehensive hydro-geomorphic study of cliff-top storm deposits on Banneg Island during winter 2013–2014
Ronan Autret,Guillaume Dodet,Bernard Fichaut,Serge Suanez,Laurence David,Fabien Leckler,Fabrice Ardhuin,Jérôme Ammann,Philippe Grandjean,Pascal Allemand,Jean-François Filipot +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used new data including hydrodynamic measurements in both deep and intertidal waters, and records of cliff-top storm deposits displacement and deposition across Banneg Island during the stormy winter 2013-2014.

Examining high-resolution survey methods for monitoring cliff erosion at an operational scale.
Pauline Letortu,Marion Jaud,Philippe Grandjean,Jérôme Ammann,Stéphane Costa,Olivier Maquaire,Robert Davidson,Nicolas Le Dantec,Christophe Delacourt +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors compared terrestrial laser scanning (TLS), terrestrial photogrammetry (TP), and unmanned aerial vehicle photogrammetric (UAVP) surveys to evaluate their potential in cliff erosion monitoring.
