Comparison inequality and two block estimate for inhomogeneous Bernoulli measures
TL;DR: In this paper, a comparison inequality is proved between the Kawasaki and Bernoulli-Laplace Dirichlet forms, and a spectral gap of the correct order L^{-2} on cubes of side length L for Kawasaki dynamics is obtained.

Local Brownian property of the narrow wedge solution of the KPZ equation
Jeremy Quastel,Daniel Remenik +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the Hopf-Cole solution of the KPZ equation is locally of finite variation for any fixed t, and that the solution stays in this class for all time.

Last passage percolation and traveling waves
Francis Comets,Jeremy Quastel,Alejandro F. Ramírez +2 more
- 09 Mar 2012
TL;DR: In this paper, a system of N particles with a stochastic dynamics introduced by Brunet and Derrida is considered, and the scaling limit is a L evy process in this case.

$t^{1/3}$ Superdiffusivity of Finite-Range Asymmetric Exclusion Processes on $\mathbb Z$
Jeremy Quastel,Benedek Valkó +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors considered finite-range asymmetric exclusion processes with non-zero drift and showed that the diffusivity is expected to be O(t 1/3 ) in the weak (Tauberian) sense.
The Work of the 2014 Fields Medalists
Welington de Melo,Jeremy Quastel,Anton Zorich,Bjorn Poonen +3 more
- 01 Dec 2014
TL;DR: The first woman was among the recipients of the Fields Medal in 2014 as discussed by the authors, marking the first time since the medal was established in 1936 that a woman was included in the recipients' work.
