Variation in Salamanders: An Essay on Genomes, Development, and Evolution
TL;DR: It is suggested that both pre-axial dominance and limb regeneration were present 300 million years ago in larval temnospondyl amphibians that lived in mountain lakes.

Immortalization of rat embryo fibroblasts by a 3'-untranslated region
Andrew J. Powell,Philip B. Gates,Diana Wylie,Cristiana P. Velloso,Jeremy P. Brockes,Parmjit S. Jat +5 more
TL;DR: This work has exploited a cross-species expression screen to search for cellular immortalizing activities and identified a 1-kb cDNA fragment which has a low representation in the cDNA library and is derived from the 3'-UTR of an alpha-glucosidase-related mRNA.

Development and applications of a solid-phase radioimmunoassay for the PO protein of peripheral myelin.
TL;DR: Results from this assay showed little or no im‐munoreactivity in extracts of brain, central myelin, liver, purified myelin basic proteins, cultured, purified second ary Schwann cells, or membrane preparations from these cells, which shows that P0 levels are reduced in the trembler mouse sciatic nerve.

“Of outstanding interest” — in the opinion of cell biologistsRetinoids and their targets in vertebrate development
Clifton W. Ragsdale,Jeremy P. Brockes +1 more
- 01 Jan 1992
TL;DR: The study of retinoic acid receptors may offer molecular insight into gene regulation underlying vertebrate pattern formation, as well as provide insight into mechanisms of vertebrates' patterning.
