Amplification techniques and diagnosis of prion diseases.
Jean-Philippe Brandel,Audrey Culeux,Katarina Grznarova,Etienne Levavasseur,P. Lamy,Nicolas Privat,Arlette Welaratne,A. Denouel,Jean-Louis Laplanche,Stéphane Haïk +9 more
TL;DR: The sensitivity values of RT-QuIC for the diagnosis of sCJD are comparable or higher than those of the other tests (EEG, MRI, detection of 14-3-3 or tau proteins in cerebrospinal fluid) but with a specificity close to 100%.
Functional expression of P-glycoprotein and multidrug resistance-associated protein (Mrp1) in primary cultures of rat astrocytes.
Xavier Declèves,Anthony Regina,Jean-Louis Laplanche,Françoise Roux,Bernadette Boval,Jean-Marie Launay,Jean Michel Scherrmann +6 more
TL;DR: The results provide the first biochemical and functional evidence supporting the expression of P‐gp and Mrp1 in rat cultured astrocytes.
Predictive Factors of Chronic Post-Surgical Pain at 6 Months Following Knee Replacement: Influence of Postoperative Pain Trajectory and Genetics.
Josephine Thomazeau,Alexandra Rouquette,Valeria Martinez,Christophe Rabuel,Natalie Prince,Jean-Louis Laplanche,Rémy Nizard,Jean-François Bergmann,Serge Perrot,Célia Lloret-Linares +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that several preoperative and postoperative characteristics could be used to facilitate the identification of patients at high risk of CPSP after knee surgery, and all therapeutic strategies decreasing APOP, such as anxiety management or performing knee replacement before the pain has a serious effect on ability to walk, may help to decrease the riskof CPSP.
Genetic susceptibility and transmission factors in scrapie: detailed analysis of an epidemic in a closed flock of Romanov
Jean-Michel Elsen,Y. Amigues,François Schelcher,Vincent Ducrocq,Olivier Andreoletti,F. Eychenne,J. V. Tien Khang,J. P. Poivey,Frédéric Lantier,Jean-Louis Laplanche +9 more
TL;DR: The results strongly suggest that resistant animals were not healthy carriers or at least were less infectious when comparing risk for lambs born to healthy dams either of resistant or of susceptible genotype.
