Lateral carbon fluxes and CO2 evasion from a subtropical mangrove-seagrass-coral continuum.
Anirban Akhand,Kenta Watanabe,Abhra Chanda,Tatsuki Tokoro,Kunal Chakraborty,Hirotada Moki,Toko Tanaya,Jayashree Ghosh,Tomohiro Kuwae +8 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that lateral transport of riverine and mangrove-derived DIC, TAlk, and DOC affect CO2 dynamics and air-water fluxes in seagrass and coral ecosystems and studies of lateral carbon fluxes at local and regional scales can improve global carbon budget estimates.

Seasonal cycle of surface ocean pCO2 and pH in the northern Indian Ocean and their controlling factors
TL;DR: In this article, the seasonal variability of surface ocean pCO2 and pH in the northern Indian Ocean was examined using a high-resolution, regional ocean-ecosystem model simulation and available surface ocean carbon observations.

Assessment of the impact of spatial resolution on ROMS simulated upper-ocean biogeochemistry of the Arabian Sea from an operational perspective
Kunal Chakraborty,Nimit Kumar,M. S. Girishkumar,G.V.M. Gupta,Jayashree Ghosh,T. V. S. Udaya Bhaskar,V. P. Thangaprakash +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of two coupled bio-physical models, having spatial resolutions, was evaluated for simulating the real oceanic features, and the resolution of the model emerged to be an important factor in simulating real ocean features.

Modeling the enhancement of sea surface chlorophyll concentration during the cyclonic events in the Arabian Sea
Kunal Chakraborty,Kumar Nimit,Anirban Akhand,Satya Prakash,Arya Paul,Jayashree Ghosh,T. V. S. Udaya Bhaskar,Abhra Chanda +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a fully coupled physical-biogeochemical model, configured using Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS), in investigating the biogeochemical response of the upper ocean to a tropical cyclone in the semi-landlocked basin of the north Indian Ocean.

Assessment of model-simulated upper ocean biogeochemical dynamics of the Bay of Bengal
Kunal Chakraborty,Aneesh A. Lotliker,Sudip Majumder,Sudip Majumder,Alakes Samanta,Sanjiba Kumar Baliarsingh,Jayashree Ghosh,P.P. Madhuri,A. Saravanakumar,Nittala S. Sarma,B. Srinivas Rao,P. Shanmugam +11 more
TL;DR: In this article, the capability of a physical-biogeochemical model configured using Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) in simulating upper ocean biogeochemical dynamics of the Bay of Bengal (BoB) is evaluated with available remote sensing and in situ observations.
