Hybrid fuzzy predictive control based on genetic algorithms for the temperature control of a batch reactor
TL;DR: The GA-hybrid predictive control strategy proved to be a suitable method for the control of hybrid systems, giving similar performance to that of typical hybrid predictive control strategies and a significant saving with respect to the computation time.

- 12 Nov 2012
TL;DR: This tool works on complete polysomnogram recordings, without the need of preprocessing, prior knowledge of the hypnogram, or noise-free segments selection, and has the advantage that it can detect lesser-energy REMs without increasing much the false positive detections.

Hybrid Fuzzy Predictive Control of a Batch Reactor Using a Branch and Bound and a Genetic Algorithm Approach
TL;DR: The main advantages of the genetic algorithm are boundedness of computational time in one step and whole computation-efficiency, whereas the main drawbacks are its inherent sub-optimality and the need for suitably tuned parameters.
Automated Sleep-Spindle Detection in Healthy Children Polysomnograms
Leonardo Causa,C.M. Held,Javier Causa,Pablo A. Estevez,Claudio A. Perez,Rodrigo Chamorro,M. Garrido,Cecilia Algarín,Patricio Peirano +8 more
TL;DR: A new methodology to detect and characterize sleep spindles (SSs), based on the nonlinear algorithms, empirical-mode decomposition, and Hilbert-Huang transform, which provide adequate temporal and frequency resolutions in the electroencephalographic analysis is presented.
