Mitochondria-associated Endoplasmic Reticulum Membrane (MAM) Regulates Steroidogenic Activity via Steroidogenic Acute Regulatory Protein (StAR)-Voltage-dependent Anion Channel 2 (VDAC2) Interaction
Manoj Prasad,Jasmeet Kaur,Kevin J. Pawlak,Mahuya Bose,Randy M. Whittal,Himangshu S. Bose,Himangshu S. Bose +6 more
TL;DR: It is reported for the first time that StAR interacts with voltage-dependent anion channel 2 (VDAC2) at the mitochondria-associated endoplasmic reticulum membrane (MAM) prior to its translocation to the mitochondrial matrix.

PI3-kinase/Wnt association mediates COX-2/PGE(2) pathway to inhibit apoptosis in early stages of colon carcinogenesis: chemoprevention by diclofenac.
Jasmeet Kaur,Sankar Nath Sanyal +1 more
TL;DR: The study suggests that activation of PI3-kinase and Wnt signaling is associated with COX-2/PGE2 production and in turn inhibition of apoptosis in colon cancer, while diclofenac targeted these pathways to restore apoptosisIn the present system.

Enhanced 0{sub g.s.}{sup +}->2{sub 1}{sup +} E2 transition strength in {sup 112}Sn
R. Kumar,P. Doornenbal,Akhil Jhingan,R. K. Bhowmik,S. Muralithar,S. Appannababu,R. B. Garg,J. Gerl,M. Górska,Jasmeet Kaur,I. Kojouharov,S. K. Mandal,Swagata Mukherjee,Davinder Siwal,Aman Sharma,Pushpendra Singh,R. P. Singh,H. J. Wollersheim +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, two consecutive Coulomb excitation experiments were performed to excite the 2{sub 1}{sup +} states of {sup 112,116}Sn using a {sup 58}Ni beam.

Influence of vitamin E on alcohol-induced changes in antioxidant defenses in mice liver.
TL;DR: The fact that alcohol promoted oxidative stress and is the major cause of alcohol toxicity in liver is supported, and Vitamin E can mitigate the toxic effects of alcohol and can be suitably used as a potential therapeutic agent for alcohol-induced oxidative damage in liver.

Diclofenac, a selective COX-2 inhibitor, inhibits DMH-induced colon tumorigenesis through suppression of MCP-1, MIP-1α and VEGF
Jasmeet Kaur,Sankar Nath Sanyal +1 more
TL;DR: Potential role of chemokines alongwith VEGF in angiogenesis in DMH‐induced cancer and its chemoprevention with diclofenac is indicated.
