The concept of wearable products such as textile antenna are being developed which are capable of monitoring, alerting, and demanding attention whenever hospital emergency is needed, hence minimizing labor and resource. In the proposed work using textile material as a substrate, the ultra wideband antenna is designed especially for medical applications. Simulated and measured results here shows that the proposed antenna design meets the requirements of wide working bandwidth and provides 13.08 GHz bandwidth with very small size, washable (if using conductive thread for conductive parts) and flexible materials. Results in terms of bandwidth, radiation pattern, return loss as well as gain and efficiency are presented to validate the usefulness of the current proposed design. The work done here has many implications for future research and it could help patients with such flexible and comfortable medical monitoring techniques. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This paper presents a direct coupled C slot loaded microstrip antenna which can yield wider bandwidth for WLAN/WiMax applications. The different antenna geometries are simulated through IE3D Zeland simulation software for the comparative analysis of bandwidth. The recent development technology of wireless internet access applied to the WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) frequency bands in the range 2.40-2.50 GHz has forced demand for dual-band antennas, which can be implemented in stationary and mobile devices. The proposed antenna has dual frequency band having fractional bandwidth 3.38% (1.392-1.44 GHz) and 69.5% (1.733-3.58 GHz) which is suitable WLAN/WiMax applications. The gain has been improved up to 5.11dBi, directivity 5.39dBi and efficiency 97.216%. The proposed directly coupled microstrip antenna fed by 50 Ω microstrip feed line.

Comparative Analysis and Bandwidth Enhancement with Direct Coupled C Slotted Microstrip Antenna for Dual Wide Band Applications

The main focus of this paper is to study the enhancement in bandwidth by varying the slot size in micro strip patch antenna. A wide band coaxial probe feed dual triangle slotted micro strip patch antenna has been simulated on IE3D software to give a wide bandwidth of 31.34% and maximum antenna efficiency of about 98%.The characteristics of proposed micro strip antenna such as efficiency, gain and directivity has simulated and studied in this paper and the antenna is designed to operate in the frequency range of 1.824-2.502 GHz. Here five different slot sizes are taken and it is concluded that as we increase the slot size the bandwidth increases.

In this chapter, a low cost compact flexible textile antenna is presented that has low cost due to partial ground plane, and the anticipated antenna is suitable for different wireless applications. The proposed antenna is utilized as a line feed and simulated from 2GHz to 8GHz frequency. The impedance bandwidth of proposed antenna is 106.30% at -10 dB reflection coefficient. The anticipated design simulated with CST software to achieve directivity at resonant frequency 3.2 GHz is 3.609dBi and at 4.8 GHz is 4.519 dBi.

Low Cost Compact Flexible Textile Antenna With Partial Ground

In the present work first a rectangular slot loaded patch antenna is designed and then it is analyzed through artificial neural network. For this purpose the rectangular slot of antenna varying sequentially and its bandwidth is observed through IE3D simulation software. After it an artificial neural network is designed that directly gives the bandwidth of antenna for different length of the slot. For making a proposed neural network feed forward back propagation with levenberg marquardt training function is used. The proposed neural network gives highly accurate result after training. The proposed antenna is feeding through coaxial probe which gives 31.34% bandwidth and maximum antenna efficiency of about 98%.The proposed antenna is designed to operate in the frequency range of 1.824-2.502 GHz which is suitable for ultra mobile telecommunication system. The antenna is analyzed through IE3D simulation software for maximum bandwidth.
