NMRFx Processor: a cross-platform NMR data processing program.
TL;DR: A wide variety of processing operations are provided, including methods for processing of non-uniformly sampled datasets using iterative soft thresholding and the use of the program as an educational tool for teaching basic and advanced techniques in NMR data analysis.
Structural and Molecular Determinants of Membrane Binding by the HIV-1 Matrix Protein.
Peter Y. Mercredi,Nadine Bucca,Burk Loeliger,Christy R. Gaines,Mansi Mehta,Pallavi Bhargava,Philip R. Tedbury,Landry Charlier,Nicolas Floquet,Delphine Muriaux,Cyril Favard,Charles R. Sanders,Eric O. Freed,Jan Marchant,Michael F. Summers +14 more
TL;DR: These findings call to question extended-lipid MA:membrane binding models, and instead support a model put forward from coarse-grained simulations indicating that binding is mediated predominantly by dynamic, electrostatic interactions between conserved basic residues of MA and multiple PI(4,5)P2 and phosphatidylserine molecules.

Conformational Recognition of an Intrinsically Disordered Protein
James Krieger,Giuliana Fusco,Marc Lewitzky,Marc Lewitzky,Philip C. Simister,Jan Marchant,Carlo Camilloni,Stephan M. Feller,Stephan M. Feller,Alfonso De Simone +9 more
TL;DR: This work combined statistical mechanics, calorimetry, and NMR spectroscopy to investigate the recognition and binding of a fragment from the disordered protein Gab2 by the growth factor receptor-bound protein 2 (Grb2), a key interaction for normal cell signaling and cancer development.

Galactose Recognition by the Apicomplexan Parasite Toxoplasma gondii
Jan Marchant,Ben Cowper,Yan Liu,Livia Lai,Camila F. Pinzan,Jean Baptiste Marq,Nikolas Friedrich,Kovilen Sawmynaden,Lloyd Liew,Wengang Chai,Robert A. Childs,Savvas Saouros,Peter Simpson,Maria Cristina Roque Antunes Barreira,Ten Feizi,Dominique Soldati-Favre,Stephen Matthews +16 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that galactose recognition by TgMIC4 may compromise host protection from galectin-mediated activation of the host immune system, and reveal its carbohydrate-binding specificity to a variety of galactOSE-containing carbohydrate ligands.

Structures of the Compact Helical Core Domains of Feline Calicivirus and Murine Norovirus VPg Proteins
Eoin N. Leen,Kyr Kwok,Birtley,Peter Simpson,Chennareddy V. Subba-Reddy,Yasmin Chaudhry,Stanislav V. Sosnovtsev,Kim Y. Green,Sean N. Prater,M Tong,JC Young,Lmw Chung,Jan Marchant,Lisa O. Roberts,C. C. Kao,Stephen Matthews,Ian Goodfellow,Stephen Curry +17 more
TL;DR: The solution structures of the VPg proteins from feline calicivirus (FCV) and murine norovirus (MNV), which have been determined by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, reveal a compact helical structure flanked by flexible N and C termini and the precise role of the calicovirus VPg core in virus replication remains to be determined.
