Plasma boriding of a cobalt-chromium alloy as an interlayer for nanostructured diamond growth
TL;DR: In this article, the microwave plasma-enhanced (PE) CVD process is used to deposit interlayers composed primarily of the borides of cobalt and chromium, which is shown to be an effective diffusion barrier against elemental cobalt for improving nucleation and adhesion of NSD coatings on a CoCrMo alloy.

Metal-boride phase formation on tungsten carbide (WC-Co) during microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition
TL;DR: In this article, the authors explored the variation in metal-boride phase formation during the microwave plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition process at surface temperatures from 700 to 1100°C and showed several well-adhered metalboride surface layers consisting of WCoB, CoB and/or W2CoB2 with average hardness from 23 to 27 GPa and average elastic modulus of 600-730 GPa.

Improved nanostructured diamond adhesion on cemented tungsten carbide with boride interlayers
TL;DR: In this article, a comparison of interlayer effect for CVD diamond coatings on ternary borides (WCoB, W2CoB2) with a cemented tungsten carbide substrate has not been previously examined to this level.
