Derivation of the Kalman filter in a Bayesian filtering perspective
Ramakrishna Gurajala,Praveen B. Choppala,James Stephen Meka,Paul D. Teal +3 more
- 05 Aug 2021
TL;DR: In this article, a purely Bayesian filtering approach to the Kalman filter is presented, based on an analogy to the principles of Bayesian estimation and then presented a step-by-step derivation for the filter following the Bayesian principles.

A sorted weighting lookahead sampling scheme for accurate and fast particle filtering
Ramakrishna Gurajala,Praveen B. Choppala,James Stephen Meka,Paul D. Teal +3 more
- 05 Aug 2021
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple lookahead sampling scheme was proposed to avoid the resampling step of the particle filter. But the problem of particle degeneracy was not addressed and instead the authors proposed a new particle filter with high speed and accuracy by propagating in copies to make up for those that should be discarded.
A Fast and Unbiased Minimalistic Resampling Approach for the Particle Filter
Ramakrishna Gurajala,Praveen B. Choppala,James Stephen Meka,Paul D. Teal +3 more
- 13 Sep 2021
TL;DR: In this article, a fast resampling procedure was proposed to give an accurate approximation of the posterior and tracks as accurately as the conventional resamplers, which is an important method for online state estimation in nonlinear nonGaussian scenarios.
