Towards a photonic crystal mode-locked laser
TL;DR: In this article, a monolithic two-segment quantum dot passively mode-locked photonic crystal laser is proposed, which achieves a group velocity dispersion of 2x104 ps2/km, more than an order of magnitude lower than similar dispersion.
Effects of replacing a portion of the AlGaAs base-emitter junction of heterojunction bipolar transistors by GaAs
William Liu,James S. Harris +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a theoretical analysis and experimental investigation were carried out to assess the merit of replacing a portion of the graded AlGaAs base-emitter junction, which potentially reduces the space charge recombination current.
Very Low-Threshold 1.55-μm Dilute-Nitride Lasers
Seth R. Bank,Hopil Bae,Lynford L. Goddard,Homan Yuen,Mark A. Wistey,James S. Harris +5 more
- 26 Jun 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, a 1.55-pm edge-emitting GaAs-based device was proposed to replace InP-based sources in the 1.2-1.6 pm range.
Atomic Force Microscope Chemically Induced Direct Processing
TL;DR: In this article, the effects of different drawing parameters such as tip bias, translation speed, ambient atmosphere, and substrate doping on line quality were explored, as well as the effect of tip bias and translation speed on the line quality.
