The effects of salinity on reproductive development, plasma steroid levels, fertilisation and egg survival in black bream Acanthopagrus butcheri
James Haddy,N.W. Pankhurst +1 more
TL;DR: All but one fish ovulated in response to LHRHa, however, the number of ovulations and egg volumes was lowest in fish held at 5‰, and both fertilisation and sperm motility were significantly reduced at5‰.

Mortality of key fish species released by recreational anglers in an Australian estuary
Matt K. Broadhurst,Charles A. Gray,Dennis D. Reid,Michael E.L. Wooden,Damian J. Young,James Haddy,Cristiana Damiano +6 more
TL;DR: Irrespective of the treatment, most yellowfin bream and snapper deaths occurred within 3 h of being hooked and released into the cages, while trevally and dusky flathead showed a delayed mortality over 4 days.

The efficacy of exogenous hormones in stimulating changes in plasma steroids and ovulation in wild black bream Acanthopagrus butcheri is improved by treatment at capture
James Haddy,N.W. Pankhurst +1 more
TL;DR: The results show that capture and handling stress reduce the responsiveness of fish to exogenous hormone treatment and that best results are obtained if hormonal treatment is administered at the time of capture.

Histopathological effects of short-term aqueous exposure to environmentally relevant concentration of lead (Pb) in shorthorn sculpin (Myoxocephalus scorpius) under laboratory conditions.
Khattapan Jantawongsri,Rasmus Dyrmose Nørregaard,Lis Bach,Rune Dietz,Christian Sonne,Kasper Jørgensen,Syverin Lierhagen,Tomasz Maciej Ciesielski,Bjørn Munro Jenssen,Bjørn Munro Jenssen,James Haddy,Ruth Eriksen,Ruth Eriksen,Barbara F. Nowak,Barbara F. Nowak +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effects of a short-term exposure to Pb on sculpin blood, gills, liver, and muscle and the morphology of gills and liver were evaluated.

Fishing and fecundity: The impact of exploitation on the reproductive potential of a deep-water fish, orange roughy (Hoplostethus atlanticus)
TL;DR: It is suggested that the stock is in a better position to recover from overexploitation than would be expected if only spawning stock biomass were considered.
