Recent progress in non-native nucleic acid modifications.
TL;DR: A review of non-native modifications and the challenges faced in the design, synthesis, application and outlook of novel modified oligonucleotides can be found in this article, where the authors provide an overview of nonnative modifications.
Mechanochemical synthesis of short DNA fragments
TL;DR: The first mechanochemical synthesis of DNA fragments by ball milling is demonstrated, enabling the synthesis of oligomers of controllable sequence and length using multi-step, one-pot reactions, without bulk solvent or the need to isolate intermediates.
