Giant Magnetic Band Gap in the Rashba-Split Surface State of Vanadium-Doped BiTeI: A Combined Photoemission and Ab Initio Study.
I. I. Klimovskikh,Alexander M. Shikin,Mikhail M. Otrokov,Mikhail M. Otrokov,Mikhail M. Otrokov,Arthur Ernst,Arthur Ernst,Igor P. Rusinov,Igor P. Rusinov,Oleg E. Tereshchenko,Oleg E. Tereshchenko,V. A. Golyashov,Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,A. Yu. Varykhalov,Oliver Rader,Konstantin A. Kokh,Konstantin A. Kokh,E. V. Chulkov +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the vanadium-induced magnetization in the 2DEG breaks time-reversal symmetry, lifting Kramers degeneracy of the Rashba-split surface state at the Brillouin zone center via formation of a huge gap of about 90 meV, and the constant energy contour inside the gap consists of only one circle with spin-momentum locking.
Magnetization-dependent Rashba splitting of quantum well states at the Co/W interface
Paolo Moras,Gustav Bihlmayer,Polina M. Sheverdyaeva,Sanjoy K. Mahatha,Marco Papagno,Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,Oliver Rader,L. Novinec,Sandra Gardonio,Carmelita Carbone +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the spin-orbit effects in Co(0001) films on W(110) by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy and found that the inversion symmetry in the band dispersion of magnetic quantum well states along structurally equivalent directions of the Co films was broken.
Atomic and Electronic Structure of a Multidomain GeTe Crystal.
Alexander S. Frolov,Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,Carolien Callaert,Joke Hadermann,A. V. Fedorov,Dmitry Yu. Usachov,Alexander N. Chaika,Brian Walls,Kuanysh Zhussupbekov,Igor V. Shvets,Matthias Muntwiler,Matteo Amati,Luca Gregoratti,Andrei Varykhalov,Oliver Rader,Lada V. Yashina +15 more
TL;DR: An intrinsic quantitative relationship between the spin polarization of pure bulk states and the relative contribution of different terminations is established, consistent with a reversal of the spin texture of the bulk Rashba bands for opposite configurations of the ferroelectric polarization within individual nanodomains.
Interplay between the magnetic anisotropy contributions of cobalt nanowires
Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,M. Lucas,Florin Radu,E. Martin,Marta Multigner,Pilar Marín,Antonio Hernando,G. Rivero +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the magnetic properties and the crystallographic structure of the cobalt nanowire arrays as a function of their nanoscale dimensions are reported. But no significant changes in the magnetic behavior were observed with decreasing temperature, indicating that the effective magnetoelastic anisotropy does not play a dominant role in the remagnetization processes of individual nanowires.
Electronic and spin structure of the topological insulator Bi2Te2.4Se0.6
Alexander M. Shikin,I. I. Klimovskikh,Sergey V. Eremeev,A. A. Rybkina,M. V. Rusinova,Artem G. Rybkin,E. V. Zhizhin,Jaime Sánchez-Barriga,Andrei Varykhalov,Igor P. Rusinov,Evgueni V. Chulkov,Evgueni V. Chulkov,Evgueni V. Chulkov,Konstantin A. Kokh,Konstantin A. Kokh,Konstantin A. Kokh,V. A. Golyashov,V. Kamyshlov,Oleg E. Tereshchenko,Oleg E. Tereshchenko +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, high-resolution spin and angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy measurements were performed on the three-dimensional topological insulator Bi${}_{2}$Te${}-2.4}$Se${}_0.6}$, which is characterized by enhanced thermoelectric properties.
