Macula Densa SGLT1-NOS1-Tubuloglomerular Feedback Pathway, a New Mechanism for Glomerular Hyperfiltration during Hyperglycemia.
Jie Zhang,Jin Wei,Shan Jiang,Lan Xu,Lei Wang,Feng Cheng,Jacentha Buggs,Hermann Koepsell,Volker Vallon,Ruisheng Liu +9 more
TL;DR: A novel mechanism of acute hyperglycemia-inducedhyperfiltration is identified wherein increases in luminal glucose at the macula densa upregulate the expression and activity of NOS1 via SGLT1, blunting the TGF response and promoting glomerular hyperfiltration.

Reducing ischemic kidney injury through application of a synchronization modulation electric field to maintain Na+/K+-ATPase functions
Wei Chen,Lei Wang,Pengfei Liang,Jason Mast,Clausell Mathis,Catherine Y Liu,Jin Wei,Jie Zhang,Liying Fu,Luis A. Juncos,Jacentha Buggs,Rui-Ping Liu +11 more
TL;DR: In mouse models of warm and cold ischemia, the technique decreased kidney injury and improved function, and application of the technique to human kidneys during cold storage decreased histological evidence of injury, suggesting that the approach might be useful in minimizing allograft dysfunction.

Role of Kidneys in Sex Differences in Angiotensin II-Induced Hypertension.
Lei Wang,Ximing Wang,Helena Y. Qu,Shan Jiang,Jie Zhang,Liying Fu,Jacentha Buggs,Bo Pang,Jin Wei,Ruisheng Liu +9 more
TL;DR: It is found that same-sex–KTX mice still exhibited sex differences in Ang II–dependent hypertension, but the cross-sex KTXs exhibited more robust inflammatory responses reflected by higher expression of IL-6, TNF&agr;, and KC (keratinocyte-derived chemokine) than same- Sex differences in blood pressure regulation are found.

Role of intratubular pressure during the ischemic phase in acute kidney injury.
Jin Wei,Jiangping Song,Jiangping Song,Shan Jiang,Shan Jiang,Gensheng Zhang,Gensheng Zhang,Donald E. Wheeler,Jie Zhang,Shaohui Wang,En Yin Lai,Lei Wang,Jacentha Buggs,Ruisheng Liu +13 more
TL;DR: It is found that higher Pt during the ischemic phase promoted the development of AKI, while lower Pt protected from kidney injury, and may be a potential target for treatment ofAKI.

Sensitization of renal transplant candidates by cryopreserved cadaveric venous or arterial allografts.
TL;DR: Cryopreserved cadaveric venous or arterial allografts used in ESRD patients as an alternative to synthetic grafts for hemodialysis access are evaluated to determine PRA against HLA class I and II antigens.
