TL;DR: The results of these studies have demonstrated the utility of anatomical and endocrine techniques for detecting pregnancy approximately 3 days after the onset of implantation, and the variation in the timing of implantations and the rise in circulating mCG in individual animals.

TL;DR: A steep rise of bioactive hCG is a consistent feature of the peri-implantation period of normal pregnancies, and some abnormal pregnancies produced hCG with lower biological activity than the hCG ofnormal pregnancies.
