Fission fragment mass and energy distributions as a function of incident neutron energy measured in a lead slowing-down spectrometer
TL;DR: In this paper, a double-sided Frisch-gridded fission chamber was placed in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's lead slowing-down spectrometer (LSDS).

TL;DR: A lead slowing-down spectrometer (LSDS) was recently installed at LANL as mentioned in this paper, which is comprised of a cube of pure lead 1.2m on the side, with a spallation pulsed neutron source in its center.
Nondestructive Assay Measurements Using the RPI Lead Slowing-Down Spectrometer
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of a lead slowing-down spectrometer (LSDS) is considered as a possible option for nondestructive assay of fissile material of used nuclear fuel.
Measurement of (n,α) reactions on 147Sm and 149Sm using a lead slowing-down spectrometer
TL;DR: In this paper, a compensated detector based on passivated implanted planar silicon (PIPS) detectors was constructed to discriminate against capture γ's and "γ-flash" events and provide a simultaneous background measurement.

- 01 Jan 2011
TL;DR: In this article, the first time that Pu was assayed in the US using a LSDS system was performed at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) to demonstrate the feasibility of such method and to provide benchmark experiments.
